This is the story so far.
Hey everyone 👋 We’ve been quiet for a bit, but here’s the latest:
We’ve been testing out different AIS providers after GoCardless quietly pulled their product.

It threw a bit of a spanner in the works, but the good news is: we’re now finalising a new provider that should actually give us more flexibility (and better long-term support for Amex + Monzo).
This means we’re almost ready to roll out a fresh round of alpha testing with the new setup.
Sorry for the radio silence - juggling changes and product dev has been intense. We'll be posting more frequent updates again, starting now.
We’ve got 20 real users actively using Potzo in the Alpha - and it’s been amazing to watch it in action.
One of them even said:
"Another month where Potzo’s got it bang on the nose 👍🏼 I am very happy! No stress at the end of the month 🙏🏼"
This is exactly what we built it for.
Thanks to everyone testing and giving feedback - you’re shaping what Potzo becomes. ❤️
We’ve just launched a Discord server for early users and curious minds.
Here’s where you can:
Jump in → https://community.potzo.cc
You can now delete your account or revoke your connections anytime.

We also now check your connections regularly. If something breaks (like a token expiring or anything else), you’ll be able to reconnect by logging back in and following the instructions.
So close now
We’ve overhauled the logged-in dashboard, it’s cleaner, faster, and actually makes sense now.

We’re also wiring up the logic so you can remove connections and delete your account if you ever want to bail (we hope not, but still)
We’ve got card connections working! Auto top-ups are now scheduled and starting to roll.
We ran into some issues refreshing the Monzo token and updating metadata instantly (like the remittance info from your credit card), but that’s all squashed now.
In fact, we’re actively spending just to see those transactions sync over 😅
Another big step: Potzo is now successfully connecting to credit card providers via GoCardless.
This unlocks the ability to read balances and transactions. We’ve already started testing initial top-up flows to match your pot to your card.

Support for all card structures
We’re working on correctly parsing the most common credit card formats - from Amex to Barclaycard to Capital One.
Handling payments
Soon, you’ll be able to automatically sync payments and top up as you spend.
Big milestone: Potzo can now fetch your Monzo pots via OAuth.
That means once you’re logged in, you’ll see a list of your pots (with emojis, names, and balances) - ready to sync your spending.

Connect your Credit Card
We’re finalising secure Open Banking links via GoCardless so you can connect your Amex or other credit card provider.
Top Up Automatically
We’ll ask if you want to match your Monzo pot to your current credit card balance.
We’ve got a big piece of the puzzle in place: you can now log in to Potzo using just your email and a secure magic link - no password required.
This unlocks the next key steps:

Pick a Pot Once you’re signed in, you’ll be able to choose a Monzo savings pot. If you don’t have one, we’ll prompt you to set it up and come back.
Connect your Credit Card We’ll support linking cards (like Amex) using Open Banking via GoCardless. This is how we pull in your spending securely.
Top Up Automatically After linking, we’ll ask if you want to match your pot to your card balance. One tap and you’re covered.
No one has access yet - but things are coming together🚀

Just a day after sharing Potzo on Reddit, over 150 people have already signed up to hear more.
What started as a personal tool to sync Amex and Monzo has clearly caught some interest - so I’ve decided to build a public alpha.
Some of the early reactions genuinely caught me off guard: “This is all I’ve ever wanted from Monzo” “Sounds heavenly” That kind of feedback makes it really easy to keep going.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll post updates here as things progress - what’s live, what’s tricky, what’s coming next.
Big thanks to everyone who signed up, messaged, or shared the page. You’ve helped turn a small idea into something real.
